Welcome to the Norwich class...

The passion hard work and ambition of all the teachers at OConnor and Hennigan Irish Dance Academy has helped the Academy to grow to the success it has reached today with dancers aged from 3 up to 40 enjoying dance classes across the Network. OCHIDA has produced numerous champion dancers and World medalists and are very proud of all our students past and present.

Our Irish dance class in Norwich was established in Autumn 2015 and we welcome Irish dancers of all ages to join us for fun and fitness or to work towards competitions and grade exams.

Our Irish Dance Teachers

Mandy Hennigan OCHIDA (Norwich)
Mandy Hennigan

Principle teacher at Oconnor & Hennigan.

Teaching for 21 years and an adjudicator for 11 years, Mandy teaches full time across East Herts, Essex and Norwich. She enjoys adjudicating all over the World and has just qualified as A CLRG Grade Examiner.

Mandy started dancing age 4 and during her career won numerous regional and National titles and was proud to be World Solo Champion 4 times and well as part of a World Champion figure team.

Angela O'Connor OCHIDA (Norwich)
Angela O'Connor

Angela started Irish dancing at the age of 6. She danced competitively at world championship standard until the age of 18. She also studied performing arts after leaving school which covered all genres of dance including, ballet, tap, street dance and contemporary.

Angela traveled the world with 'Lord of the dance' for four years as a main backline dancer and understudy for one of the leading roles. Angela is the principle teacher at our Slough location but you will often see her teaching at all our classes.

Sean Hennigan OCHIDA (Norwich)
Sean Hennigan

Sean is Mandy’s brother and teaches classes across the OConnor and Hennigan network.

Dancing from age of 5 he too won numerous National and International titles during his competitive career and retired as Senior Men's World Champion before touring around the World for a number of years with Micheal Flatleys Lord of The Dance.

Natalie Day OCHIDA (Norwich)
Natalie Day
Associate Teacher

Natalie is an associate teacher at our Norwich Class. Natalie has danced from a young age and after a short break to have her family, has now returned to enjoy a competitive career with OCHIDA Norwich.
